Harry Potter

the gospel according to harry potter

Mary D. mentioned how she is troubled by the Christian Conservatives who believe that Harry Potter is pushing a pagan point view. We would not want our kids to become witches would we? Well, as opposed to journeying back to the Salem Witch Trials or the Spanish Inquisition, above you will find an alternative.

Peace!

Well, not really troubled. More like curious.

Well, think about it this way. They are literalists. They read the Bible as inerrant word of God. Why would they not read every work in a similar literalis vein? Thus, the author of Harry Potter, Rawlings, must be into witchcraft. She must want to destroy our children. Why else would she write the story.

"Do not suffer a witch to live."

Tripp, that's exactly what I don't understand. Why is it that some books get targeted for banning and others don't? LOTR is full of wizzardry (and even includes a satanic-like demon), but it's lauded as a great christian work. I'm glad books like this get published (even though it got bad reviews) since it proves that there are christians who don't believe all literature was written to poison our minds.

Revelation 21: 8

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and SORCERERS and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 22: 15

For without are dogs, and SORCERERS, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

note: this is God's word written by the Holy Spirit given to Jesus Christ's beloved friend John by a risen Jesus himself in the final book of the Bible. This is God's true message to a sinful mankind WARNING against witchcraft - rawlings obviously didn't heed God's warning to her - will you heed God's warning to you? Worship her (instead of God) at your peril.

I think that everyone who hasn't read the Harry Potter books and say that they are "witchcraft" and from "Satan" shouldn't be making any comments until they have read the books. I think that Rowling is a great writer and her books are great.
