Hi Y'all. Happy 2003. I just got back from the Fletcher Branch of the Henderson County Library and they had a copy of Revenge just sitting there waiting for me to pop in and grab it. My lil' branch probably has all of 5000 books (if that many) and I was surprised and delighted to find what I wanted. Sometimes it's the little things in life that keep us going.
Kate and I hung out for a bit tonight and she mentioned that she really enjoyed Revenge (January) and Mysterious Skin (February). It looks like we've got two good books coming up, so I hope everyone is able to participate.
Tripp, I was feeling weird about being around a bunch of people I don't know. It wouldn't have worked out anyway. Thanks to the horrible traffic on the NJ Turnpike, my drive down took two hours longer than expected. I didn't get to Rich's until almost 10:00.
Barb, I finished it this afternoon. Now I'm really looking forward to the discussion. Seems to me all the revenge was a little too perfect, but not perfect enough in the end. I did enjoy it, though.
sae-hae-bok ma-ni ba-deu-sae yo!

Wish my copy of Revenge came as easily as Barbara's. Did you know that in Canada it is published as The Stars' Tennis Balls (the UK title) instead and that Amazon makes no reference to this? What a pain in the ass! Luckily we figured it out in time for Carl (boyfriend-even though obliged to do these things, is kind enough to volunteer) to send it care of his cousin who has come to Korea on vacation. Finally met the cousin -thanks Jimmy!-, read it in one sitting and am now dying to discuss, except that I'm going to China and will have to join the discussion a few days late. Whew! I think it was worth it though.
