Harry Potter Trash? Or Treasure?

When I left the "Midnight Magic" release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I noticed a lot of customers walking out with empty shipping boxes. I wondered, "Why would anyone want an empty box?"

Now I know:

Buy your very own original Harry Potter garbage on eBay!

Update: This is probably the most creative pitch I've ever seen on eBay, even if it is for an empty box that should be in a landfill by now. What the heck are "burninating mugwart monsterosities?"

wow!

lol

People will buy anything. Whatta bunch of meatheads!

lol
And people are really bidding on them?

Yes, the most expensive empty box sold so far went for $9.99.

I cannot believe that anyone would buy the box.

Amanda :)

Maybe they're trying to fool people into believing that there's also a book inside the box. I don't know if this is true or not, but awhile back, when either the original Playstation or PS2 first came, someone put the box up on ebay and it sold for $200 b/c the bidder thought he was bidding on the console.

ha!

funny story, enygma.

the things that people buy these days.
i think the internet has allowed for fanaticism to be more fanatic these days, i.e. Harry Potter Bookstore Shipping Boxes.
