No, Ana, just me. The spam has gotten on my nerves and I haven't had the motivation to do anything about it. It's constantly on the back of my mind to get off my butt and revive the site, but I've been so wrapped up in personal issues (work mostly or, actually, the lack of it) that I don't go near the computer much.
I did get your e-mail about hosting a future book and rudely didn't answer it since spam has ruined wanting to post here for me. But, I still want the site to keep going and have been thinking about it more and more.
Sigh. It's a rainy day today. Maybe I can force myself to get motivated.
I just found out about your site and was sad to see that there is nothing going on right now. Hopefully you will get the "spam issue" fixed and be back in business.
I just found this site too, after doing a search for discussions on "Life of Pi" (which I just finished reading). I was enjoying reading the discussion on this and hope this site gets revived! Wonder if it can perhaps be made lower maintenance or the load can be spread around? (it sounds like it's quite time consumer for one person to manage)
Wow! So sad to see that it has slowed down over here. Mary, may I suggest you switch over the WordPress 2.0.4? I switched a couple months ago and have had NO spam get through - it all gets taken out by an installed plug-in called Akismet which is WONDERFUL.
Enjoy your break, but think about switching to WP which I've really enjoyed learning since making the move away from MT in July (I moved to WP because I was sick of the spam as well).
Like Maggie, I just found this site. She was looking for discussions on Life of Pi, while I was looking for discussions of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. I enjoyed reading all of your comments so much . . . and it gave me some concrete thoughts for the discussion I was going to lead. I thank you for that. And I truly hope you will be able to continue this blog because I would dearly love to join in the discussions. Thanks! Charline
I am absolutely amazed at how many people are interested in the non-death of BookBlog. In addition to Ana's post and the comments here, I've received several e-mails. The support really makes me feel like something good is going to waste, so let's see what I can do...
